The Africa University Clinical Research Centre (AUCRC) is a unit under the College of Health Agriculture & Natural Sciences (CHANS).
AUCRC’s first project was established in 2006 in collaboration with and sponsored by St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) in Memphis, TN, USA. This project involved the set up and establishment of a research centre in preparation for an HIV vaccine trial and lasted for three years.
Pillars & Plants: Prevention, Support & Empowerment for young people. The project aims to establish a chronic disease self-management clinical and e-therapy platform in a clinical trial and offer support group activities for students recovering from substance abuse, with project support given by AU CRC, AU Peer Educators, and Psychotherapy Care and Counselling Services (PCCS).
